Service overview

Garden Clearance, explained

What it is

Clearing gardens of green waste and garden rubbish, then taking it all away. Overgrowth, cuttings, hedge trimmings, old turf, broken fencing, rotten decking, old garden furniture, pots, and the general rubbish that collects behind sheds. Garden clearance is one of the jobs our customers review us for most often.

Who it's for

Homeowners who've lost control of a garden, people preparing a house for sale or rental, landlords dealing with a garden a tenant left behind, families clearing a relative's property, and anyone getting ready for a landscaper.

When you need it

In spring, before the garden gets ahead of you. In autumn, when the cuttings pile up. Before a house goes on the market, because buyers judge the outside first. Before landscaping work, so the landscaper starts on a clear plot.

Why use a professional

Green waste is bulky and fills a car in minutes. A full garden can mean a dozen tip runs. We bring the van and the team and clear it in a single job, and garden waste goes to local recycling centres.

If it's left

What happens when it's ignored

A garden left for a season doesn't stay where it is. It spreads.

Common mistakes

  • Filling the garden waste bin week after week while the pile keeps growing.
  • Burning garden waste, which can upset neighbours and may break local rules.
  • Clearing the garden but leaving the bags sitting on the drive with no way to get rid of them.

Overgrowth takes over

Brambles, ivy and self-seeded shrubs spread fast. The longer they're left, the bigger the job and the more waste there is.

Pests move in

Piles of cuttings and rubbish behind sheds give rats and other pests shelter.

It drags down a sale or let

An overgrown garden makes a property look neglected in photos and on viewings.

Boundaries and structures suffer

Climbing growth can push on fences and sheds, and wet debris left on decking speeds up rot.

Our process

Five steps from call to cleared

  1. Step 1 – Call or send a photo

Ring 07487 639878 any day between 8am and 6pm, or send a few details and a photo of the garden through the quote form. The clearer the photo, the faster we can price it.

  2. Step 2 – Free quote or site visit

We give you a price based on the volume, the type of waste and the access. If it's easier to see it in person, we'll come out. Quotes and site visits are always free.

  3. Step 3 – Agree a time

Pick a slot that suits you. Same-day pick-up is offered, and we work seven days a week, so weekends are fine.

  4. Step 4 – We load and clear

We clear the agreed areas, bag the loose waste and carry everything through to the van, including from back gardens with side access only. We leave paths and lawns swept.

  5. Step 5 – Responsible disposal

We take the waste we collect to local recycling centres, so as much as possible gets reused or recycled rather than dumped. As a registered waste carrier (CBDU151433), we handle it legally.

In detail

What a garden clearance can include

Areas we cover for garden clearance

Plus the rest of east Dorset and surrounding areas.

Green waste

Grass cuttings, hedge trimmings, branches, brambles, leaves, weeds and shrubs. If you've already done the cutting back yourself, we'll just collect the bags and piles.

Garden rubbish and structures

Old fence panels, rotten decking boards, broken trellis, slabs, pots, old garden furniture and barbecues. Wooden and concrete sheds can be dismantled and removed as part of our demolition service.

Heavy materials

Rubble, soil, broken concrete and hardcore are heavy and awkward. Concrete has its own dedicated collection service, and can be added to a garden clearance.

Residential and commercial gardens

Private gardens, rental properties, communal areas, and business premises with outdoor space. For landlords and agents, we can clear a garden between tenancies so the property is ready to show.

What we don't offer

We don't offer tree surgery. Garden clearance covers clearing and removing waste, not specialist tree work.

How to get the fastest, most accurate quote

  • Send a photo or two. A clear photo of everything that needs to go is the quickest way for us to price garden clearance accurately. Take it from a distance so we can see the full amount, then a close-up of anything unusual.
  • Tell us where it is. Upstairs, in a loft, at the back of a garden with side access only, or on the drive. Access affects how long the job takes, so the more we know, the more accurate the quote.
  • Mention anything heavy or awkward. Concrete, appliances, large furniture and plasterboard all need planning. If something needs dismantling to get it out, let us know when you book.
  • Separate what you're keeping. Put anything you want to keep in one room or mark it clearly. It saves time and avoids mistakes on the day.
  • Flag anything you're unsure about. If you think a material might contain asbestos, say so. We don't remove asbestos, and if we suspect it on a job we'll stop and advise you to use a licensed specialist.
  • Pick a time that suits you. We work 8am to 6pm, seven days a week, and same-day pick-up is offered. Early calls give us the best chance of fitting you in the same day.

Homes and businesses

We work for both domestic and commercial customers. For homeowners and tenants, garden clearance is usually a one-off job tied to a move, a project or a long-overdue clear-out. You want it done in one visit, without lifting anything yourself, and with the peace of mind that the waste is going somewhere legal.

For landlords, letting agents, shops, offices and trades, the priorities are timing and paperwork. Because we work seven days a week, we can often collect outside trading hours or between tenancies. As an Environment Agency registered waste carrier (CBDU151433), we give you a legitimate route for your waste, which protects you under your duty of care.

Either way, the process is the same: a free quote, a time that suits you, a team that does the loading, and waste taken to local recycling centres rather than dumped. Mo has run the business for 15 years with a team of three, and customers rate it 5/5 from 19 verified reviews on Bark.
